• Leaky Heart in Children

Maybe a question sometimes comes at a doctor asked her what her heart causing a leak. Is it possible you feel creepy? Yes, the first time I had heard it too creepy. If the heart is leaking, will the blood is abundant everywhere out of the heart. Apparently that question is a leak in the barrier that exists between the heart chambers or porch. Those things are part of Congenital Heart Disease Congenital Heart Diseases or. Usually there are two most common types: PDA (ductal Pentensi arteriouses) and VSD (ventricular septal defect).

The following article describes my PDA (ductal Pentensi arteriouses)?

" Before birth, the ductus arteriosus allows blood to bypass the baby's lungs by connecting the pulmonary artery (which supplies blood to the lungs) and aorta (which supplies blood to the body). Soon after birth and the lungs filled with air , blood vessels are no longer needed. it will usually close within a few days. If the ductus arteriosus does not close, there will be abnormal blood circulation between the heart and lungs.

PDA is rare. It affects girls more often than boys. This condition is more common in premature babies and those with respiratory distress syndrome baby. Infants with genetic disorders, such as Down syndrome, and that his mother German measles (rubella) during pregnancy are at higher risk for PDA.

PDA is common in infants with congenital heart problems, such as hypoplastic left heart syndrome, transposition of great vessels, and pulmonary stenosis. "

Then for the VSD, the following explanation:

"Before the baby is born, right and left heart ventricles are not separated. As the fetus develops, it forms the barrier to separate these two ventricles. If the wall is not fully formed, a hole will remain. This hole is known as a ventricular septal defect, or VSD.

Ventricular septal defect is the most common congenital heart defect. Infants may not show symptoms, and may eventually close the hole as the wall continues to grow after birth.

If a large hole, too much blood will be pumped to the lungs, causing heart failure. These babies often have symptoms related to heart failure and may need medication to control symptoms and surgery to close the hole. Holes can also be closed without surgery, through cardiac catheterization.
The cause of VSD is not known. This defect often occurs along with other congenital heart defects.

In adults, ventricular septal defect is a rare but serious complication of heart attacks. This hole is associated with heart attacks and not the result of a birth defect. "
